I think religion is poisonous, and that the world would be a better place if less/no people were religious. Now I’m not saying that religions don’t have good ideas, because there’s a lot of good concepts, I get down with Jesus and all that, but time and time again it’s been proven that organized religions, like Christianity, Islam, Catholicism, etc, have caused more harm then good. And I don’t buy that “Religions do so much good for others” because they do, but so do secular organizations. Perhaps more so. And if the only reason someone like Mother Theresa did her thing was fear of eternal damnation(not saying she did, just an example), then it’s insincere and is selfish in the long run.
However, having said all that, I’m not going to tell someone that they can’t have a religion. We live in a country based on the freedoms to express oneself anyway they want and I’m cool with that. But I understand why there are evangelical atheists. They probably feel as strongly about religion as I do, or stronger.
I will though, debate people if I’m in the mood. Like the Jesus freaks that roam downtown during events, they recruit their children to pass out tracts and shit, so that kinda triggers me. And not to sound full of myself, but my knowledge of the Bible is generally far greater than their own and so I trounce them in a debate and they just walk off with a sarcastic remark and in a huff.

I watched “Stand By Me” for the first time last night and I was really depressed for a while after it ended. Specifically because of the last lines of the movie…
I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?
It hit me really hard because I literally didn’t have any friends at that age. I really didn’t make my first legitimate friend until my freshman year of high school.
I had “friends” from church and school, but they weren’t ever people I’d see outside of those establishments. I’ve never had a sleepover, or a tree fort, or went fishing with some buddies. I never made those connections that children need to make.
I was always just wrapped up in my books; and when I did want to have someone over my parents would prevent it from happening, one way or another. It kind of just hit me how shitty and empty my childhood really was.
But I guess I shouldn’t harp on it. The past is the past and I just need to look forward to the future and appreciate the good friends that I have now.
Make the most of the time I have.
I’m a big fan of both. Not so much hard drugs(never done them, never intend to) but I love getting fucked up. It makes life less shitty. I know that’s a terrible attitude to have about them, but I don’t care.
My go-to is marijuana. Everything’s just always better when there’s pot involved. Good things become great. Normal stuff becomes good. And shitty things become tolerable. Plus I do my best thinking when I’m high.
My brain is wired oddly, so that when I’m trying to think/focus on one thing, I’ve got 5 or 6 other thoughts going on in the background. It’s great sometimes, because I’m able to comprehend loads of information at once, but it’s also very nice to kind of shut down a bit. Weed helps me focus.
Also, I’m really good at math when I’m stoned. I absolutely suck at it when I’m not.
I guess that’s just how it goes.
But I have no idea where to go with it. Ideas?
In ten years exactly, I’d like to be asleep. Because this insomnia shit is for the birds. Well, the owls, at least.
But for my life, I’d like to have finally gotten my Masters in some field of Astronomy, working in the field of my choice. And I’d also like to have made a positive impact on the city of Buffalo.
I’m not quite sure what I want to do for the city, but I want to do something good.
I’d like to be at my goal weight of 190-200. And if I keep going the way I’ve been going, I’ll get there a lot sooner.
